Embrace (digital pattern, English)
The sweater is knitted from the bottom up. The yoke is knitted as a front and back piece. The gauge is 10 stitches per 10 cm. The sweater is knitted in "Hobbygarn" from Vikinggarn, but you can choose a different yarn if you want. The number of stitches is not stated in the pattern, but how you measure your own body and calculate the number of stitches.
The Norwegian name of the sweater, Favn, comes from the Old Norse word fǫgn which means to receive, embrace or hold around and is also used metaphorically to describe a symbolic or emotional embrace (Source: hjemmetid.no).
The sweater is made to focus on the fact that we all carry a story and life has shaped us into who we are. Try not to judge others for their actions and choices - we don’t know what lies behind it. Try to understand instead. We all do the best we can with the conditions we have.
